Maureen Denise McCormick was born on August 5 1956, in Woodland Hills California the youngest and only child of Richard and Irene McCormick. Her father was an educator at school and her mom was an at-home mom. Michael Dennis Kevin, her two brothers older. McCormick was a gifted artist and singer from an early age. She would perform shows using puppets to entertain her friends. In the year she turned 6years old, she won her first prize in the Baby Miss San Fernando Valley competition. Pat Domigan from the Jack Wormser Agency then called McCormick to inquire whether she was looking to pursue a career in show business. McCormick was offered her first significant task in 1964 when she starred in a commercial on television for Mattels newest doll Baby Pattaburp. In the year that followed, she appeared in another television commercial for Chatty-Cathy's doll. The following year, McCormick was cast at La Jolla Playhouse to play the role of Wind It up and It breaks. The Brady Bunch In 1969 McCormick was picked from a field of 1,200 kids who auditioned for the chance for the role of the oldest of three daughters towheaded on the new TV sitcom The Brady Bunch starring Florence Henderson as well as Robert Reed as newlyweds with a blended family. The run of five years for the show was a successful one. McCormick wrote in her 2008 memoir Heres the Story : Surviving Marcia Brady & Finding My True Voice that she nearly losing her virginity in the fifth season of the show in the presence of Barry Williams, her co-star and on-screen brother. In 2008, she revealed in her book Heres the Story: Surviving Marcia Brady and Finding My True Voice, that during season five on the show, she was close to losing her virginity to Barry Williams. She said but the timing wasn't the right time for us.
